Salons and Barbers in Central Washington's 509

Three salons and barbershops appear in the 509 directory: Family Salon and Fast Hair Cuts Unisex in Moses Lake, and Basin Street Barbershop in Ephrata, which advertises walk-ins welcome. Most of the rest of the trade in these towns is not on the list yet.

The barber and barber shop is still a real institution here. These tend to be family-run businesses where the person cutting your hair also knows the family, has watched the kids grow up, and can keep a haircut booked around a work shift. That relationship is why a rural barbershop survives on repeat customers instead of foot traffic.

Walk-in convenience matters more in a small town than the appointment culture of a city. You need a haircut before a shift, between errands, or on a Saturday with the kids, and you want to know you can walk in and sit down. Basin Street Barbershop says walk-ins welcome on its listing for exactly that reason.

If you cut hair in the 509, claim your listing and say whether you take walk-ins. It is one of the few categories where people still show up without calling first.
